Earn an Online Transportation Business Degree

Use your experience to build a career

If you already have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and want to move up in the transportation business, an online associate’s degree program may be the right choice for you.  You can complete an online degree without ever entering a classroom, allowing you to keep your current job and schedule. We prepare graduates for jobs such as shipping supervisor, heavy equipment business owner or a transportation logistics specialist.

A college with experience educating students for careers

At Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB), we offer a two-year degree online in Transportation Business.  We have been preparing students for rewarding careers since the 1870s and are known as a college that teaches the skills and knowledge that employers want.  After earning a two-year degree in Transportation Business, students will be able to use their CDLs or heavy equipment operator’s licenses as leverage for advancement.

Turn your knowledge into an AAS degree

To find out if an online associate’s degree is the right path for you, call us at 877-609-8889 or send an e-mail to contact a representative. You already know the transportation industry.  Why not use that knowledge to take advantage of opportunities in the business?

Courses and requirements for a Transportation Business degree

To succeed, you will need knowledge of basic management techniques and skills.  Our online transportation business degree includes courses in business topics such as:

  • Accounting
  • Payroll
  • Business communications
  • Computer systems
  • Small business management
  • Business law
  • Transportation business management
  • Supply chain management
  • Art of selling
  • Marketing

In addition, we will transfer the credits you received when you obtained your heavy equipment operator’s license or CDL from a licensed school.  Finally, you will take 30 credits of general education courses, for a total of 96 credits (for truck driving emphasis) or 94 credits (for heavy equipment emphasis). Most students complete their degree programs after 21 months of full-time study. However, you may be able to speed up the process by receiving credit for prior learning, military experience or related work experience.

Why online?

Students in our online Transportation Business associate degree program are often working adults with over-the-road jobs.  Others are closer to home but have schedules that do not allow them to take regularly scheduled college classes. To meet the varied needs of our students, we offer an associate’s degree in Transportation Business entirely online, or as a combination program—some classes online and some on-campus.  We also offer hybrid classes that combine both online and in-class instruction in the same course. We provide many options so that you can get the education you need to succeed.

21st century program with 19th century roots

Our online Transportation Business degree has its roots in the 19th century correspondence course.  Unlike students in previous years, today’s distance learners receive extensive student support during college.  When you enroll in the online division of GU/MSB, you will be able to download classes and lectures from anywhere and at anytime.  You will be able to communicate with faculty through IM, chat and e-mail.  You will connect with fellow-students.  You will have access to our online library and help desk. You will be far away from the distance learning schools of the past.
